Fish Poem by Rachael Delamar

Fish

Head first

and Strategize myself

Into a wall

Fantasize

First site what it would be like

Standing in soft light

And just in case

I fail to surprise

Ill lock

My gaze

Let it

D

r

O

p

Utter a small moan

Open my small mouth

Swallow you whole

Swim or drown in the sound

In all its endless bliss

Call you a murderer

Befriend you anyway

You killer

Of

Female fertile fish

And if I could

An EXPlosion

Of words

Would overtake me

A kiss of death embrace

To punch you in the face

To Detour you

From intruding upon my

Reckless Solitude

Uninvited are U and your

Charming disgrace

U frequently make me want to

Divorce myself

From my positive attitude

Be deemed a jaded princess

But I just can’t seem to

Tear myself from the interactions

Between he and she

And I can’t help but be stupefied by

My negligent aptitude for letting you

Just waltz right into my living room

And that’s when ill try and try

To hide behind

The protective smoke of my cigarette

And the shadows will play in my eyes

When I call you a philogynist

You lover

Of pretty female fertile fish

And a smile will play about my lips

When I try and try

To disquise

My own inventive

Self mockery

As I remind myself not to asphyxiate

While you try to translate.

Don’t kill yourself

Yes go kill yourself

Throw yourself to those

Pretty

Female

Fertile

Fish.
