Five Days In A Row Poem by J Sheba Anandhi

Five Days In A Row

Five days ago was a novel day
I was stuck with no words to say,
The mind wasn't ready to pay
Any heed, yet awaited the way;

Just before the introduction
There was an occasion to pay respect,
After which was the presentation
And there was something to introspect;

Regular session began just like that,
There started the time to ask why and what,
Awe and revere arose for the subject,
There is no topic for one to neglect or reject;

There was the tribute followed by
Silence for a great leader to rest in peace,
All allegiance in this country thereby
Had a day to reflect on each and every piece;

The lecture on laser applications was good
The brain gained some knowledge to boost the mood
Later on the same day came the strained state
Where there wasn't time for slumber to lock the gate;

Five days in a row has rowed through
The span and barged its way to the current
Lane, there is some discomfort though
One walks beside the unforeseen ludic present.
