Flames Of The Forest Poem by Pradip Chattopadhyay

Flames Of The Forest

The city is in flame.
Spring has set the streets on fire.
The walkways are glowing red.
Like the forbidden, the indifferent passersby
Stamp on them.
Under busy feet, littered on the concrete,
The raging fire paints the city wild.
They fall noiselessly on your path,
Giving you all and hoping nothing in return.
If you are not moved, trample them not, lest
They turn away not to be back again,
Flames of the forest!
