Fleeting Me Poem by James Meaney

Fleeting Me

To me, And my world around
Love is fleeting and temporary
You can't keep it to the ground
It slowly drifts away faintly
The one's I love
Don't hold this true
No one can keep them
I feel like leaving, I'm Done, I'm Through
I look too their eyes, Colors of the sky's
No one of emotion, just the reflection
from the sky to the ocean
I wish I had empathy
So feelings could be fleeting
I'd have no worries just understanding
I see, I know you, Do you know me?
Predictable world of confusion
I'm tired of this community
This people, this girl
have me screaming serenity
In my hobgoblin of thoughts
twisting to notice or guess
why love lives this way
running the heart in a mis-shaped mess
