The flood has changed the face of politics!
The state is geared for saving lives, relief;
The victims suffer almost endlessly;
Their pleas for help and cries get muffled fast;
How cruel is the fury of nature!
The rains have washed off scores of houses, roads;
Some bridges have been broken by the floods;
Some stay marooned on roof-tops, woe-stricken.
All walls of differences have just collapsed;
Most leaders and separatists are mute;
The disaster has opened eyes of all;
All Indians ought to contribute their mite.
The defence personnel now look like Gods!
Will not the others wake up pretty fast?
The afflicted need help in kind and food;
Declaring sums may not rescue their lives.
Let Indian brethren wake up for the cause;
Our fellowmen need every kind of aid;
The place across the frontier is hit too;
Let love of human race stay number one.
Philanthropists and businessmen must help;
This is the time for charity big way;
Open your heart and render every help;
When nature strikes, the human race is one!
