Flowers And Barbed Wire Poem by Afrooz Jafarinoor

Flowers And Barbed Wire

Rating: 5.0

All my body has bloomed
For the kisses of the barbed wire
The sky's blue arms
Invite me like Jesus
But how do I go there
With all this blood?

What interesting contrasts and imagery you bring together in this short gem. I read it and I had to stop and really think about what it meant to me. Why would we bloom for kisses from barbed wire? Who is this speaker? You are invited by the sky like Jesus invites his followers to follow God? But how do you get there when you are covered in blood from painful entanglements with barbed wire? It does seem that there is always a price for the freedoms we seek. What a wonderful poem Afrooz...you have a way don't you? :)

wound of chains in heart are pure signs for total war against injustice even when we have been drowned in ocean of blood but it is not freedom to be considered as our sacred goal to achieve but rather a sort of mental freedom that should be put in priority. thanks for sharing.

May there be freedom for us all without the barbed wire. With flowers everywhere and blue skies. We are accepted. Thank you
