Followed To Allow Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Followed To Allow

Difficult it is.
To return with a come back.
From a destruction.
Followed to allow and permit it,
Created.
By one who has done this,
In the past as if routine.
Leaving many to no longer question,
The sanity of those...
Unable to connect a thought process,
With using their minds to examine...
The possibility of there being a reality.
Regardless of the difficulty this may be,
To face.
Putting aside delusion.
If just for a few minutes.
Doing this to not waste,
The opportunity to think for themselves.

Less...
Would be the confusion.
Less...
The appearance of stupidity achieved.
Less...
The disrespect and shown indifference.
And not existing at all,
Would be the foolishness of pettiness...
That seems to be the main ingredient,
Whipped up into bigotry, division and hatred.

Difficult it is.
To return with a come back.
From a destruction.
Followed to allow and permit it,
Created.
By one who has done this,
In the past as if routine.
And...
As if routine,
Eyes are closed.
Ears are not used to listen.
Minds collect dust.
And excuses,
To hit heads against brick walls...
At the end of dead end roads,
Where they built them.
Are again heard to be made.
Refusing to learn,
A familiar and repeated lesson.
That lesson?

'No one should mess with God.
To believe...
What is done to others,
Will not one day return.
Unforgiving of remorse and regrets to feel.'

Why that is not noticed.
Is beyond anyone with a consciousness,
To accept, comprehend and understand.
