Leave me where the snows will fall;
I'll lay myself a bed beneath
the stars; I'll listen to the wind
and sing my sorrows to the seas.

Spare me ere the seasons go,
that spring should know the winter's nigh.
Though where, I wonder, I would be
to drum when dreams have wandered by.

Hold me down when sunlight fails;
let night take care of memories,
so once again our Song may try,
before my pain remembers me.

Drown me when our August ends,
in rain before the snows may find
our shame; I'll carry on 'till then,
And sing our Song without a name...
