Fool Poem by Shruti Goswami

Fool

Sometimes they say, ignorance is bliss;
But try as much, I'm aware of this;
Love is like a redundant baggage;
That only fools do feel and miss.
Emotions are so expendable,
In this ever expanding world;
Sometimes I fear, the few who drown
In a sea of emotions, and have no name;
I'll surely be just one of them.
And feel for him who does not feel;
And trampled upon with so little care;
I wonder unto heaven and earth
If there's a thing amiss with me;
To allow such act; to make him dare?
And even then, proclaim to love;
Who does not know its worth or feel;
It's just another four lettered word;
To be used so freely; and abused at will.
It's not that easy, it is to love;
For it moves the heaven above;
Claims of such feel are not enough;
For actions always speak louder than words.
And so among the very few
Who would surely drown in love's sea;
Rest assured among them all;
One of them shall always be me.
