Footsteps Poem by Jodie Louise Pollock

Footsteps

The sound of your footsteps,
Fall broken in my heart,
A step not in time,
Since we last part,
A broken little step,
So engraved inside of me,
A broken little step,
Please come save me.

I wish to hear your footsteps,
In the cold night air,
I wish to feel your fingers,
Trace gently through my hair,
I wish to see your eyes, so brightly full of prize,
Look at me, look at me, such surprise.

Ooh I wish to hear your footsteps,
Under the moon so bright,
And I wish to feel your soul,
So eager in the night,
I wish to see your figure,
Stroll easily to me,

But I wish, ooh I wish to hear your footsteps,
Come running, running to save me.
