For D...
i knew you were leaving
your body letting go it's grasp on you
in gasps of unresisted pain
a quiet tranquility surrounding it
you were floating behind closed eyes.
i wanted to lead you to the doorway-
drew doves and coloured lights to map your way
but the person you loved best was there before me
and i was alone and bereft in the unexpected purgatory
