For Eddie Poem by Vaun Moore

For Eddie

Rating: 5.0

One day, there will be a woman besides you
Who paints her lips a deeper shade of red
In an attempt to hold onto you

But you are much to clever for that
You've always been much to clever

You will twist and turn your sly red tongue
Into words and lies and excuses
How happily your mouth will jump
From pleas to reasoning to hurt

And she will let you go....

And one day,
There will have been too many words and lies and excuses
And you heart will hunger for that the woman
Who painted her lips
A deeper shade of red
