For Mike Poem by Malcolm McGill

For Mike

Do you have dreams about him too?
He's old, he limps, he's balding.
No children. One wife.
He's happy.
Do you have those dreams?
His wit is as sharp as ever, yet a little dusty. His wife thinks more of protecting him. They're both kids.
Have you dreamt that dream?
He knows he is missed; he loves more than before and confesses it to anyone whom he shares a smile, a laugh, a debate with. He will be with us again.
