For Mochi Binstock On The Occasion Of Your Barmitzvah Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

For Mochi Binstock On The Occasion Of Your Barmitzvah

Mochi, this Year was your Barmitzvah,
In Jewish law you've become ‘A Man',
Don't miss out on your Teenage Years,
Enjoy them, the best you can.

Study well in all your lessons
To become a better person in Life,
Make Friends not Enemies,
Avoid all that leads to Strife.

Never ask a Rabbi a ‘Question',
~Why's that? " ~ I hear you say,
For the Answer he does give you,
You must obey ‘to the letter', each day.

Is there another way to find the answer? ,
There is ~ my late Father [z.s.l.] told me,
Is to the Ask the Rabbi's ‘Opinion',
Then you can take it, if it does please thee.

With ‘Opinions' you can ask other Rabbanim,
With a ‘Question' you can ask but one,
I'll never ask another Question,
Lest the Answer is an Unpleasant One.

My Father was a Great Rabbi,
Respected in Places Far and Near,
His Advice should be Heeded and Remembered,
When you seek the Answer that you wish to hear.
