One day I will be so far
From home that home will seem
An unreachable star
So distant not one soft beam
Will fall on me.
But for now I’m still at home
At home in this small town
For now I’ll sit and look around
And keep my feet on the ground
For now I’ll just be.
One day I’ll live so fast
I’ll not have time to reminisce
The years will all shoot past
Soaked in sorrows and bliss
No time for memories.
But for now I’m still young
And the essences do not elude me
I can still love the grass and trees
And savor sweet soliloquy
For now I’ll just be.
I love small towns they are so quiet and peaceful, and after living in this smog-pit called a city, I will treasure the country or maybe even a small town that much more. A Wonderful poem of longing to see what's on the other side of the fence. Thanx for sharing Sophia. Barbara

I was moved by the feeling of wonder and sadness. Wonder of what comes next; sadness of leaving and forgetting what we already have. Simply said, this poem touches human emotion at its best. Great job!
