For The Veterans Poem by Laquory Jones

This poem is all for the Veterans
I'm putting "God bless America "
On your Letterman yellow jackets
Because our military is second to
None There's no greater ones

I'm saying this straight from the
Heart this is where love always
Has to start and once it's there
It's harder to discard Navy's
National guard "Semper Fi"
The motto of life taking every-
Thing in strife becoming hardcore
Soldiers for life air force taking
The air by storm Navy Seals
Coming in swarms with the Army
Coming in by foot but that's just
Our military roots silence are the
Lambs as we strut in our
Combative suits making our
Enemies quake in their boots

As we prepare to shoot
But we could never forget our
Allies because that's the only
Way we're going survive
That's just the way that it is
Richie what's the meaning of
This the same one that a fire-
Man went back for a family's
American Flag perhaps to you
It's a crumbling task but we
As Americans hold our values
In vast no matter how much
Time the burning building may
Even last even one flag holds
Invaluable history of passion,
Grit, pain and all of our misery

I'm just letting you know that if
You're a veteran I'm thanking you
For your service you're the reason
That we have our freedoms
The reason I can live with a purpose
America is still young Phil Collins
Once told me that we still have a
Long way to go and I told him that's
For sure but spreading love is the
Cure veterans would concur
That we can make it work
