For Them, I Live Poem by DOMINIC PREMPEH

For Them, I Live

I wear these smiles not for myself
But for those who look up to me
If not; I would have been crying

I am moving to these rhythms
Not because I want to dance
But to keep us all moving

I am singing along not because the song is nice
But because my silence will deafen the atmosphere
And spoil the party

I am doing all these not because of myself
But because of those who look up to me
Else, it would have been worse
(April,2015; Labadi)
