For Your Ears Only Poem by Ray Hansell

For Your Ears Only

I take you in my confidence
You promise not to tell
You vow that what I tell you
Will never leave your lips
You even raise your right hand
To show me that it's true
That what I'm about to say
Will not be repeated by you
So now I whisper in your ear
So only you can hear
I love you
I love you
I love you

Well, that was a surprise ending! A very sweet poem, concluding with an unexpected twist.
