Forbidden Love Poem by Maryan Santana

Forbidden Love

There are two people
For they have feelings for one another
They can’t be together though
Because of family, religion or race
I do not know

They sneak around as though
They were shadows
Disappearing once the sun set in
Never to be seen together

But one day their love will break free
From those shackles that keep them locked
They’ll be known to the world
Even if their not accepted

Their love will live on
Burning so bright
For eternity to come.
