It only takes one rouge spark
to start a forest fire
It whispers through the trees
alighting on their hungry leaves.
Spreading and spreading,
Each tree makes the inferno bigger
the innocents flee
watching the destruction grow
with their dreaded, knowledgeable eyes
Sparks grow bigger
seducing more trees with their promises
Unwittingly the hurt is spread
Catching and killing
until all the hope is gone
and trust
is ash.
