Forever Love Poem by Rachel Hinkle

Forever Love

As I look deep into your eyes and remember
all the years that we spent together,
the laughter we shared
the tears that were cried
There is to much to lose
Before you go
Before your spirit slips away
Laugh with me once again
Kiss me and remind me to be strong
I don't want to be without you
I cannot handle life without you by my side
Many months I have spent here with you
Sick in bed and your life slipping away
We found hope and renewed pain
when you realized what you couldn't do
We shared company and many visits with loved ones.
Please don't leave me here alone
Please don't go without me.
I know your in pain and I see the tears that are shed
I love you so much and I don't know if I can do it without you
As you draw your last breath I feel my heart fading
my stomach in a scramble
my nerves on edge
I feel the breath lingering in my throat
afraid to move or breath
I just want to hold onto this last moment before you go
Your spirit leaving the decrepeted body that has given you nothing but burdens.
I will miss you my love,
and forever I will search for you
in hopes that our next life we will once again share this love.
