The night descends like
A glorious cloud
As the evening collides
With Amanda's misty eyes

And nations rise
While years fall
Amongst the sandy dunes of time

Yet she whispers amongst the winds
A melodious song
Through eternity here in time

It is a tale of long ago
Sung through the years
That passed here ages in time

How the stars failed for Amanda
That fateful night
And death slowly crept by
Over those Blue Mountains
Just above the gloomy seas
In a distant land in time

How a love so true
Was lost so soon

Of how Amanda slipped from the rocks
And fell to the seas below

Of how Amanda was lost
To the seas
Forever so peacefully

The sea that took her lover
A sailor to be
As he bravely fought the storms
Far away into the sea

How his ship was lost
With him into the sea

And how Amanda took her life
To be with him
Forever truthfully

Amanda was lost
For those who lived
But she was happy in heaven
With her long lost lover
Who was lost at the sea

And people say
She descends from the heavens
Every evening
Into those Blue Mountains
Over there
You see

And there she sings
So ever softly

And my friend
If you happen to be
Amongst those Blue Mountains
Just beside the sea

Wait for her voice
And join in her prayers
