Forgiveness Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Forgiveness

Okay.
Well done.
Now...
I want you to concentrate.
This question is much more difficult,
Than the others I have asked.
So use your mind and think deeply.

"Whew.
I'll do my best."

If someone says to another,
Something that is not true at all.
And repeatedly makes up stuff,
To tell others to believe.
Is called...
What?

"Oh my God.
You're not kidding.
No one told me these oral tests,
Would be 'this' hard."

Comeon. You can do this.
I'll give you a clue.
If it is not true.
It is...
What?

"Uh...
A mistake? "

Close.

"Being...
Creative? "

Almost.
Okay.
If someone creates a mistake,
To make up.
And you know that mistake was faked.
Is called...
A what?

"Geeessshhh.
Uh...
Invention? "

No.
No. No. NO!
What is a lie?
A lie. A lie? ? ?

"A friend. An 'Ally' is a friend.
A companion."

Get up!

"Why are you moving my chair,
Closer to the open window?
It's pretty high up here."

Fresh air.
Fresh air will help your thinking.
Trust me.
And besides...
God forgives.
Now sit down.
Facing the window.
I'll ask you another question.
Much, much easier.

"Thank you.
What is the question? "

Can you,
Like God...
Forgive?
