Forgotten Poem by Nick Hartley

Forgotten

Shades of grey before my eyes,
an aching heart speak no lies,
burning deeply going with the flow,
when you're forgotten and pain is
all that you know.
Fooling yourself beyond reason,
trusting love in all its season,
when like a hammer the nail appears,
only to be driven leaving you in tears,
wishing you could wish yourself away,
so you won't have to face another day.
Turning to friends for good advice,
when heartache comes it's not so nice,
though you're hurting and no one can feel your pain,
trying so hard to keep a smile that won't remain.
Believeing in your heart your world has ended,
after loves first fight, bruise and broken hearted,
just like a lost love song,
you're forgotten
and it's too late to say you was wrong.
