Forgotten Angel Poem by Allen Liebenberg

Forgotten Angel

Meeting you in the time of my life,
To better heights I was about to strive
And friendship was there and then formed
A friendship I did not think was so adored

A phone call to you confirmed that you were near
A meeting again that my heart knew was clear
I knew that I was excited to see you again
Just to find out how you have been

The white peace flower on the table did it’s part
From there something else got it’s start
Me knowing that I will remain thinking of you
Not wanting to wait to call you out of the blue

My scarf played his trick on me
When I found out that at your place I had to be
To pick up my scarf where it was left behind
Your hospitality and food showed a heart so kind

You introduced me to your own little angel so cute
From the moment I saw him, I knew he had his mother’s beaut’
Into my arms he did not hesitate to jump
And I could feel how the blood in my heart missed a few a pump.

Definitely this was not the last of me
And when I go to a wedding, at my side you will be
My heart knows well that I look forward to that day
When all my worries and stress again in your presence slips away
