Fragrance In Air Poem by Basu Maan

Fragrance In Air

White fluffy snow flakes
on the stiffened wiry hair
can smell the beloved ‘her’
in the utterly foreign air…

Gently blowing gradually in
from somewhere… where,
she unwittingly breathes
in the cold thickened alien air…

Condensed into tiniest bugs,
the exhaled fragrance in air,
floats and swirls in the layer
in quest of the yesteryear!

The stir lingers, in ripples
in the ever changing air
above the seas and oceans
from ‘one’ layer to ‘another’!

Slumber descends slowly
on hopeful eager stare
slowly‘poisons’ body and soul
laid on the bench – all bare…

Slips past the eyelids, at the corner,
gradually, a saline drop of tear
utterly devoted and dedicated
to the love of forgotten year… (2013)
