Freedom Poem by Stephanie Beyer

Freedom

Stuck in this house.
It has been all day,
I haven’t seen anything
I am going insane.
I need to get out.
I seek my freedom.

They don’t trust in what I say
Because I told a fib
I only twisted the truth.
I was not stupid.
I do tell the truth.
I only lied to get the freedom I deserve.

They don’t trust me
So I must lie.
They won't let me live my own life.
I think they expect me to become a hermit
And have no life.
I want freedom.

I want to be free to make my own choices
and screw up on my own.
If I can't make my own choices,
How will I ever live alone?
I need freedom.

I seek freedom,
That I so rightly deserve.
The only way my freedom is earned
Is if I tell a lie.
