Startling to awareness
Unspoken thought takes charge
Churning through silent peace
Seizing breath and heart

Worry and contentment
Jockey for control
Each seeking total sway
Over mind...
Over trust...
Over soul...

Random words swirling
Amorphous threads
Flowing from an unknown well
Coalesce to form a wall

Caught behind this prison door
Floundering beneath the weight
A cry breaks from her very core
Dear Lord,
Please keep me safely whole...
