Friend Poem by anthony jones

Friend

Six thousand keys, just one lock.
A story in mind with no one to listen.
Fools enslaved by time and space
below and above the stars that glisten.

Here's a picture without it's colour.
You have the gold but where is it's rainbow?
Wake up, stop dreaming
you are losing out, you're too slow.

Make haste, don't rush
I am ready here to give you a push.
Frustration afoot,
your patience cut.
Don't worry for me, please hush.

You wear your heart outside your skin,
where the hell have you been?
I need to pour the problems from the bottle I kept them in.

Harmonies like strings that are
plucked when we sing.
I am glad the chance I gave to you
resulted in a mutual thing.

You listened to my story and
you unlocked the door.
I will always be here for you.
I won't let you lie on the floor.

This drives home a philosophy of give and take in these brilliantly penned lines. Good work, keep going. arya
