Friends Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Friends

I've awaken from the glare of the sunlight
it has been peaking through my window blinds
oh, dear life, let's make love today
because there is no time to delay

The phone rings, a voice ask, "are you coming out? "
Then I say, "What's the day going bring about? "
oh, playmate, hey, you know what friends are for
Let's take on life, have fun, and do it one time more

Some will take for granted
And do as they please but to be candid
I'm gonna be the one who you'll depend upon
when you go to realize everyone around is gone

friends will be those to count on
Somebody who keep you keeping on
