Friendship Poem by Bonnie B Long

Friendship

Rating: 5.0

Are you intentionally trying to hurt me
Because NOW that is what I see
I can see a day or so not hearing from you
But when you can't answer when I'm concerned what can I do

All I can do is think of what you're trying to kill
The heat I feel inside turning to a chill
The love I feel may soon start to fade away
What will be next, our friendship I'd say

All I ask is a few min a day
to talk or text is what I say
Talking would be nice once a week
Five minutes of your time is all I seek.

If five minutes you can't spare
Then why not be fair
Tell me you no longer have any time for me
I will fade away and I, you will no longer see

I know deep down that's not what you want or is it
You say you still want to be friends we'll know in a bit
until that time when you can see
what you are doing to me

Unless you're trying to get me to hate
You won't have long to wait
Each day although more full of pain
Slowly fills with disdain.

While there is still love I feel
Are you giving me a fair deal
As one friend to another
Before our friendship you do smother

Replying to a message even if the middle of the night
Would make my mornings start off right
Don't tell me you wouldn't miss my daily hi
If you won't then I will say bye.
