Friendship As You Know Poem by Francis Duggan

Friendship As You Know

Rating: 4.0

Friendship as you know can be a fickle thing
Though the praises of it many are known to sing
Where friendship once was bitterness sometimes grow
To that you may add tell us something we don't know
The one who was your friend money to you owe
You ask him to pay you back his answer is no
Your once loyal buddy has become your foe
The seeds of mistrust money often does sow,
Your acquaintances many and your friends are so few
Yet here again I'm not saying anything that is new
Your friend you will know in your time of need
For such a friend surely is a friend indeed
'Tis when the hire purchase company re-possess your car
That you come to know who your friends really are.
