Frightening Thoughts Poem by Annalisa Fiona Gordon

Frightening Thoughts

Thoughts are my greatest fear
Memories of what was once my life
Constantly trying to keep them away
but it's no good.
Somehow they creep up
and come crashing down upon my heart

Thoughts that imprison me
forcing me to questin
faith, truth, love, my sanity
Tearing at my heart
with jagged nails.
Covering old cuts
with new ones.

Alone with awful thoughts,
hidden shame and open wounds,
theres no escape.
