Full Season Poem by Niall Limelaw

Full Season

A flowered fruit, a springtime bounty
Heaving every verdant county
Hopeful laughter, prospects golden
A sun-drunk babe fetched dreams emboldened.

Summer and a brazen vigour
The blossom of a blazon figure
The growing of a life entwined
With those a tender kiss can find.
A dwindled twilight, warmed caress
The depth of love left unimpressed.

Autumn and a withered bow
Salute to life and those endowed
With ripeness and a swollen heart
Ordained with which are ne'er to part.

Until the winter stalks around
And bones and flesh laid underground
Yet, snowfalls fade to brightness bring
And whispers of another spring.
