Like most people
On life's long journey,
I've fought some bouts and
I've played some rounds,
I've had my ups and
I've had my downs,
I've laughed tears of joy and
I've cried tears of sorrow,
But always lived in the present,
Never tried to hasten my tomorrow.
I've played my part and
I've held my place,
In what is known as
The Human Race,
A race which I have not lost
Yet I have not won,
For it's merely preparation
For my final walk
Towards the setting sun …
