Oh! She loved apples, did SnowWhite,
And so she took a greedy bite;
Then fell into the longest sleep,
The forest creatures came to weep;
How sweet she looked as still she lay,
Bluebells bowed their heads to pray;
Baby bunnies wept large tears,
They trembled with their long soft ears;
Spotted deer brought rosy flowers,
Sparrows chanted hymns for hours;
And yet she lay as still as stone,
As gentle trees wept leaves to mourn;
But here is something you should know,
One day SnowWhite began to snore;
T'wasn't a soft, pretty sound,
It rumbled and quite shook the ground;
Two startled blackbirds turned to white,
Three baby bunnies died with fright;
Sweetly as she lay, she snored,
T'was worse than when a lion roared;
The forest folk tried every cure,
That awful noise they could not endure.
They tucked rose petals up her nose,
That turned to dust in two loud snores;
They sprinkled drops of cow-pat juiced,
That she might breathe the air infused;
But yet her snores grew loud and harsh,
The roaring reached the outland marsh.
A Prince came riding by that day,
He heard the roar and thought it prey;
"A dragon-beast lurks in this wood!
I shall slay it, Yes! I should! "
He scoured the woods by day and night,
To find the beast and prove his might;
The sparrows, gentle, kindly dears,
Blew downy feathers in his ears;
Then, quite deaf, he proclaimed, "Hurray!
I have chased the beast away! "
Lead by the sparrows to SnowWhite,
He'd never seen a sweeter sight;
He knelt and quickly kissed her lips,
And placed his sly hands on her hips;
"My darling, you shall be my bride,
Come with me, be at my side! "
SnowWhite awoke..he kissed her tight,
He ne'er slept another night!
