Furtive Infatuation Poem by Darlene Pagunsan

Furtive Infatuation

Rating: 5.0

Clever little lady
Running on my mind all day
Don't she get tired
Yet I don't want her to stop
But of course I want to be in hers too
Who doesn't want to be think about
By person who's your crush?

Clever, independent, adored
Defends her friends in all matters
Can't stop thinking
Have you ever been betrayed then
I guess not, with that fierce little
Look in your face
I think you're in a great company.

One afternoon I lost hope of getting in
Touch with you, yes, we're classmates but
I couldn't dare look in your place
'Eyes on your papers', says our proctor
'Eyes on your crush' could have been better
Then we had our copies for the next lesson
And I tried my best to get near you, to no avail.

I got no choice but to go home with my friends alone
Then I heard your laugh at the back
With a tingling feeling that it's your pack
Of course I looked behind me
Your smile is what I want to see
And then you get near my flock
Talked for a while and said goodbye.

'She's my crush', said my friend
Realizing that you're whom she's talking about
I felt so nauseous, cause you're my little secret too
I thought I'd get over you then but I just can't
Then we parted ways, a great opportunity to be with
You and your friends, in which I really got a grip
Then time came and we exchanged goodbyes.
