GALAXIES: STAR CITIES
IN SPACE!
Galaxies are very large clusters of stars,
Like gigantic star cities in outer space!
Where some are Spiral or Elliptical or
Irregular, -
Depending upon their sizes and shapes!
Each galaxy contains star dusts, a few
black holes, -
Along with over hundred billion stars!
And astronomers say that there are some
100 billion galaxies, - seen by them so far!
Our solar system and earth, is located in the
Milky Way galaxy;
While our closest galactic neighbour the
‘Andromeda’, -
With naked eyes, you can hardly see!
Andromeda is estimated to be some
2.5 million light years away;
And astronomers say our neighbour is trying
to visit us, -
To merge with our Milky Way and to stay! !

Our night sky fascinates me, the numbers of stars, I let my imagination run, but the billions of galaxies each with billions of stars, for me is beyond imagination. But its not! ! Interesting poem visit my Comet Wise and take a ride. Bob
