Every boat I ever sailed on for wages
had its galley located aft near the stern
Stormy days with waves washing decks
forced deckhands to hang on to ropes
from quarters forward to galley aft
for meals that would be upchucked
on the return trip. Mess cooks laughed
at our rubber-legged journey!
