Genesis: 1-12 In Rhyme

Genesis: 1-12 in Rhyme
1 In the beginning God created Heaven
And everything; then next, He created earth.
At first, the earth had no form back then;
Its land and its waters were dark at birth,
.
In order to give light to His new planetoid,
God, by speaking, supplied a bright light
So the world would not be just a dark void,
Then divided darkness into day and night!
.
That evening and morning were the first day;
And on His second day - more firmament,
By dividing waters into: ocean, sea, and bay,
And let the dry land be the other segment!
.
Then he called His dry land creation "Earth"
And said, Let the earth grow grass and herb
Yielding seed after its own kind - thenceforth
Producing all kinds of trees with fruit superb!
.
Following His second and third work days,
For His next project, made the cosmos's stars
The source of firmament's signs and light rays
To represent the seasons, and days, and years.
.
And God finished His fourth day in a jiffy.
Day six, little past midnight, He made beasts
Of the field, fowl of the air, and fish of the sea;
Thus, done; His creature's job, largest to least.
.
On the seventh day God set His work aside,
Took a break from everything He'd done;
Then, at last, His work - He also sanctified.
Ending: made sure not more to do - was none!
.
2 There went up from the earth a misty rife
That watered the whole face of the ground,
Hence God breathed into man the breath of life.
He became a living soul, the only guy around!
.
‘Tis not a good thing, for man to be alone;
So next morning, presumably around six,
He fashioned a female of the man's rib bone
And she became the first female - his sidekick!
.
Next, the LORD planted a garden in His Eden,
And in it, He put the man - maybe was in April;
Also, He planted a tree of smarts in the garden,
Representing difference tween good and evil.
.
And God told them that that tree was off-limit
Unlike other fruit trees also pleasing to the eye.
Therefore He warned them to not eat from it
For if you do eat of it, He said, You will die!
.
3 Soon, along came the serpent more subtil
Than any beast of the field in God's promenade.
And he said unto the woman, with covert skill,
Did God say don't eat from ‘every' tree made?
.
Yes! Said, don't eat of tree in the garden's midst
Because if we do we will surely die!
And the serpent said unto the woman, If didst,
That's okay. Because you shall not surely die!
.
For God knows that the day you eat the fruit,
Your eyes shall be opened, and fears you might
Be likened as to a god - that none can dispute.
So she did eat and gave her husband a bite!
.
All of a sudden they heard God calling them.
He was walking around in the garden nearby
So man and his wife tried to hide from Him
Among the trees - trying not to voice a reply!
.
To God, the man explained: She gave one
Apple to me and told me to eat of it.
And God said, Woman what have you done?
And she said, A sneaky snake made me do it!
.
So the Lord God said to the serpent, pell-melly
Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed
Above the beast of the field; and, on your belly
You will eat dust all your life - that's assured!
.
Anyway, God make coats of skins, and clothed
Adam and his wife, Eve
Then sent them forth from the garden withered,
To eat from the tree of life, so as to forever live!
.
4 Adam and his wife had kids - only a couple,
First was Cain, Eve said, is from the Lord God.
Soon, had their second child they named, Abel.
Abel was a sheep keeper. Cain, a tiller of clod.
.
And in process of time it came to pass: Brother
Abel offered to God his firstlings of flock;
By-and-by, tho, Cain of Abel got very wrother!
So Cain murdered Abel with a rock!
.
5 Adam and Eve had another son, named Seth.
After Seth, Adam lived nine hundred thirty years,
Seth begat daughters and Sons, before his death,
Seth, died at age nine hundred and twelve years.
.
Seth begat Enos who lived to be 807 years old;
And Enos sired Cainon and lived 905 years;
Cainon begat Mahalaleel - he lived 910 years old;
And Mahalaleel spawned Jared - he lived 895 years;
.
Jaret fathered Enoch - he lived 962 years;
Enock begat Methuselah [Raptured] 365 years old;
Methuselah created Lamech - he lived 969 years;
Lemech begat Noah - he lived to be 777 years old.
.
6 And it came to pass, men began to multiply
On the face of the earth; when daughters are born,
Men had to keep their choices - close nearby
For the giants lusted man's wives - no forewarn!
.
So when the giants confounded God's women
Evil flourished continually to the point where
The Lord God decided he had to destroy man,
Beast, creeping things, and fowls of the air!
.
That grieved the Lord to have to use his sword
On that he had made; but, concluded he would.
Noah had found grace in the eyes of the Lord
So God told him, Make an ark of gopher wood,
.
Make it with lower, second, and third stories.
The length of the ark shall be 300 cubits,
And fill it with many rooms and food supplies
Then coat it inside and outside with black pitch.
.
And, behold, I'll bring tons of water to rise
Upon the earth, to destroy flesh - near nigh;
Yeah, even'll smite insects and annoying flies,
And everything not aboard your ship will die!
.
But with thee will I establish my covenant;
And thou shalt come into the ark without fail
Two of every living thing - even the reluctant
And make sure they are male and female!
.
7 And Noah began working per God's ordain,
For God told him to build it before He smites
In seven days, because He will cause it to rain
Upon the earth for Forty days and forty nights!
.
And Noah did all that the Lord did command.
So a week later Noah, his sons, and their wives
Boarded the ark made by Noah and God's hand.
When rain started, Spirit shut door to save lives!
.
And the waters increased greatly upon the earth;
And the ark floated, even after fully loaded.
For the waters prevailed for 150 days upon earth!
In which every living substance - God destroyed,
.
8 Now, after the window of heaven did close
And the fountain from it did finally stop
In the 7th month, on the 17th day - a rainbow!
The ark rested upon Ararat mountain top!
.
Noah sent out a dove to see if is any dry land
But she returned to him in the ark
For she found no place to rest or stand
So Noah stayed seven more days in the ark.
.
Again he sent forth the dove out over the water,
And she came back an olive leaf - green!
But he stayed seven more days, then sent her
Out again. She returned not - never again seen!
.
Exit of the ark! God voiced to Noah - jubilantly,
And tell family time for all to disembark,
So they may breed abundantly,
And be fruitful and multiply hence leaving ark!
.
9 And God blessed Noah and his three sons,
Saying unto them, upon your hands - this tweet:
Every beast, fowl, and fish to be meat - for eons,
And every green herb I have given you also to eat!
.
And I will establish my covenant with you all;
Never shall there be a flood like this deluge,
Least you forget, I'll bring a bow so to recall,
No more wipe-outs, at least none this huge!
.
10 Of Noah's sons, Ham, Japheth and Shem,
Unto them, their sons for the next generations
After the flood, it became incumbent upon them
To spread out and populated the nations!
.
11And the whole earth was of one language,
And of one speech. And it came to pass,
As they traveled around dragging their luggage
They found a terrific plain of great land mass!
.
So they dwelt there and built a city and a tower
That it might reach all the way to heaven,
Of brick, stone, and lots of slime and mortar,
But the Lord God had a different craven!
.
He came down, varied their language haggle,
Then scattered them around one from another,
And their different languages became as Babel,
So, they could not try to build another tower!
.
12 Now the Lord had said unto Abram,
I'll show you land for which thee shall migrate
And I will make your new land a great nation,
And I will bless thee, and make thy name great;
.
So Abram took Sarai his wife, and they went
As god told them, just him and his wife on board
A camel, left for Canaan; there, he pitched a tent
And began building an altar unto his Lord!
….

God changed Abram's name to Abraham;
Wife's name from Sarai to Sarah, - verbatim.
And the descendants of Sarah and Abraham
Formed many nations, for the Jew' and Muslim'!
