- Ghostly Barque Poem by Georgios Venetopoulos

- Ghostly Barque

ghostly barque

The seabirds fly amid the clouds
and all along fear naught to stray
accompany the autumn shrouds
that deference the rain's ballet.

Define me in their source of gray
where sky dimensions sting like thorns
with flash and thunder to convey
rain's irreversible each morn.

Beloved picture here returns
before me blooming glowing light,
some prominent September ferns
and primrose scents define the night.

Up there our songs recite above
obsidian glass of granite crags,
the scents and railleries of clove
and breezes, too, caress the grass.

Two forms are dancing on the field
evanescently feast in dark
the waves become their nightly shield
as they set forth their ghostly barque.
