Gifts Poem by Christina Simmons

Gifts

Sitting here alone by myself - allowing me to daydream
Could I be somewhere else? Can a lesson be learnt

Deserted from a mate
March made in heaven...Quietly I listen to the rain
Falling outside - hitting the ground
Dropping like crystals ON the rooftop

Sounding like tear drops coming from above -
I think angels/goddesses cry too
It's calming...soothing to my ears - My physical self
Making me all so relax inside: nourishment for my soul

I consider I don't need Anyone here At this moment in time
A companion....Giving me laughter...Joy
Human company I can honour - Feeling humorous
Worthy of sentiment and praise

Truly bless to have such gifts
Cherishing not condemning companionship
They're gifts from God! The universe!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The words of this poem says it all. Came up with this short poem when I felt pretty desperate and lonely. Wanted so much to have a close mate whom I could converse with - other people to admire and they me.
