Giving Up Poem by Jordyn Lamb

Giving Up

Giving up is a hard thing to do
You have to let go of all of your dreams
All you ever had
All the hopes and desires you created
And leave
Leave this life behind

You would leave your friends, family
With nothing but questions and sadness.
Why did she leave?
Because I couldn't live like this anymore
Was it me?
You and a lot more
Why didn't I see the signs?
Because I'm good at seeming fine
Could I have helped?
No one could have, you all caused it

It would also leave them with anger
Angry at the thought that you left them
Angry that they are now alone
Angry that you were so selfish as to take you away from them
When in reality, they were the selfish ones

They pushed you to be better
To be perfect even
They want you to be prettier
Nicer
Intelligent
They you push you to your limits
But when you leave, they are sad for you leaving
Because they don't have the service you give them anymore
Whether that be money
Listening
Advice
You can't do that for them anymore
That is why they are the selfish ones

So giving up is worth it
If you're in this kind of world
