Giving Up~ Poem by Hannah Noelle

Giving Up~

I hold my hand out for you,
Trying to save your life,
But you look at me with utter disgust,
And use your words like a knife.

I scream out in pain, but still I stand,
I'm endlessly fighting to save you.
Do you think you're all alone?
Because I've felt your pain too.

You still try to refuse my help,
And my strength is starting to fade..
Why won't you let me help you?
I can clean this mess we've made.

You want to think you're all alone,
And even though you're not,
You don't care for any help!
That has clearly been taught..

Why should I risk my life for you?
Why should my heart keep tearing?
I can't possibly care for you,
Until YOU can start caring!

I finally pull my hand away,
And take a few steps back.
I didn't want it to be this way..
But you just fade to black.

The remorse of unrequited love... how tragic... how utterly bitter sweet... and beautifully worded. To you dear poet... once again my complements.
