Glad You Made It

Rating: 5.0

Taking advantage of the system.
Playing the victim.
I don't begrudge you any of it.
In all honesty I hope it works.
Some succeed, some bleed.
Goals to achieve.
If you make it do something good with it.
Make every second last, every second count.
Erase the past.
Cause time is moving on.
With or without you.
It will not hold your seat.
Your place in line.
The fire will continue burning long after you gone.
It keep us who stayed warm.
I don't need the hooks.
Never did.
Risk versus rewards.
Captain full speed ahead.
Avoid the rocks if you can.
Because on that road down.
We could all drown.
There is just not enough life boats to save everyone.
And if you were told otherwise.
I don't blame you for taking your own.
Holding my hand out shoulder to shoulder in the hopes to find my someone.
But instead I continue get pull further down.
Feeling like a fool, playing the cheery sad looking clown.
Still hoping for the heart to be found.
And as I round the very next bend.
I try to defend the mirage, the illusion.
That will be happy with the stories conclusion.
Feeding the delusion, and his appetite increase by the day.
Soon he is taking chunks out of my leg.
Crippling who I could have become.
But I'm so glad someone made it to the very distant shore.
Even if they it wasn't equal or fair.
Victory on the run.
Meaningless horrible silent puns.
Do we want it overcooked or perfectly done?
Who cares as long as we get there.
Welcome to the final resting place of my summer set isle.
In different voices I compile the arguments made.
Enjoying this little bit of rain in an otherwise perfectly assembled parade.
Marching across this stage.
More swords to cross as I turn yet another page.

'Taking advantage of the system' necessity or career choice, the system seems to be designed, accessed easier by a few rather than the many

A very insightful deep poetry of life and it's challanges. A very hopeful battle across the shore. A very meaningful poetry. Admirations.

Well done. I love it. Life does not owe me a living. I owe it a living. In living or leaving reality changes every moment.
