Goals

Plant goals for yourself at an early age
don't carry your dreams at an illiterate stage
soar high to the sky and beyond
like a duckling, dream of one day leavin' the pond
venture into the 'big bad world' out there
the world is your playground don't be scared
life life knowing exactly what you want
deter condescending advice like: you won't or you cant'
'cause as long as you have faith and believe
then surely someday your dream you will achieve
for you are the master of your own destiny
only you decide your eternity
you only can deter your degrading past
let your thinking be positive and futuristic
dull, exciting or even bombastic
it's your future we're talking about
I agree there will be the occasional doubt
people putting you up and pulling you down
black, white or even brown
yet we all have an essential responsibility
to transform our fantasies into a reality
might not be tomorrow or today
but believe and your dream will turn visible someday.
