How God loves a cheerful giver, no matter, great or small,
For our money can deliver a timely miracle,
Such that the taxman may relent and help some charity,
At times when money's sent or spent in true humility.
Consider well, the widow's mite, Lord Jesus pointed out,
Because she gave with great insight, by faith and not by doubt.
Some people tithe a tenth or more, like clockwork, every time,
While other folks just help the poor, not holding back a dime.
Some even sell their homes as well, donating quite a lot,
God knows the tales such folks could tell, if this proved good or not.
'It's only money! ' some declare, content to do their part,
'For some, it's like an answered prayer when we give from the heart! '
The unemployed may not agree, they live from week to week,
They stay quite poor for all to see, with future's often bleak.
The pensioners complain each year, disabled folks as well,
The Governments are swift to hear, but slow to end their hell.
They just print money now and then, and borrow to the hilt,
Enough to start a war again, with millions more then killed.
Then charities will advertise with TV footage played,
The horrors Mankind can't disguise! The piper must be paid.
So judgement day's soon on its way, of that we can be sure,
And even though some kneel and pray, will we give less or more?

The poem is about Revelation TV's Christian channel
sharing of various charity adverts, and the contrasting
times we're living in today, when billions can't or won't
give to charities, as they're in dire need of charity, too.
