I’m walking back towards The Light
I’ve bowed my head at last
Its been a long and painful fight
But hope its in the past

I hope my God because of love
Because of saving grace
Because of faith to cry above
And humbly seek Your face

You know my heart the way I feel
You know my very soul
I know my God Your love is real
And know that life’s my goal

I’m sorry that I went astray
Just like a fool gone blind
Through selfishness I lost my way
And left The Truth behind

Wallowing in the filth and mire
Where angels fear to go
Both day and night I would aspire
To drink the putrid flow

For gain I sought the foreign shores
For lust I closed my eyes
Knocking on dark decaying doors
Until I saw the lies

I turned my back on things You hate
Repented of wayward sin
Again I’m humbly at Your Gate
Allow this fool back in

My only hope is in Your Son
Upon this hope I stand
Forgive the web of evil spun
Please take me in Your hand
