God’s Yoke’s Easy Poem by Michael P. Johnson

God’s Yoke’s Easy

God’s yoke’s easy, God’s burden’s light
From youth till old and grey
For crowns of gold, life’s robes of white
Forever and a day

Yet who’ll seek out, God’s face to live?
Who’ll seek life’s King on high?
Consider Christ their souls to give
For selfish self to die

A little here, a pinch there
For Heaven’s Lamp to glow
Revealing others that we care
Whilst through this life we go

Standing, when all around us fall
Holding life’s goal in view
Heeding Salvation’s graceful call
Living upright and true

Thus Christ, God’s Son will take man’s hand
Baptise one in fire
Giving, guiding, to understand
How selfless souls rise higher

Though stony the Way, lonely, stile
Let no one share you doubt
Laugh at the storm, walk extra the mile
Knowing what life’s about

God leaves no servants in the dark
But causes eyes to see
Christ wants God’s flock in safeties ark
By grace with Guarantee

The Holy Ghost, Christ’s Promised One
Life’s Councillor and Guide
Until The Father’s will is done
And Jesus has His bride…..
