God Will Stand Us By Poem by Michael P. Johnson

God Will Stand Us By

Who’ll fail to enter Heaven’s courts?
Who’ll fail to see God’s face?
Plastic people with plastic thoughts
Void of love and grace

We must be real The Father true
Renounce the shame within
God’s righteous way alone pursue
Without the lust for sin

It’s no good running hot and cold
One foot in one foot out
But strong in faith with love so bold
Leaving no room for doubt

For this! We need to stand and fight
Be vigilant and strong
With Jesus’ love and Heaven’s Light
Remain where we belong

Allowing God His rightful way
With shield and trusted sword
Cautiously watching night and day
Whilst following The Lord

Keeping The Master plain in view
Washing each others feet
Obedient in the things we do
Growing in love’s elite

Whilst holding fast to Heaven’s call
True faith will never die
Perhaps we’ll fail, but never fall
For God will stand us by

For has He not for each a plan?
A plan that’s not in vain
He sees the heart and soul of man
And knows who will remain
